Overview


The Hidalgo County Treasurer is elected at each general election by the voters of Hidalgo County for a term of four years.

Responsibilities
The statutory duties of the County Treasurer include the receipt and custody of all money belonging to the county; as well as disbursement of county funds for all debts to vendors and all county employees via check or electronic means.

In addition to the statutory duties, the Hidalgo County Treasurer also serves as the following:
  • Hidalgo County Investment Officer
  • Chairperson for the Hidalgo County Investment Committee
  • Member of the Hidalgo County Bail Bond Board
