The Mission of the Hidalgo County Public Defender’s Office is to provide superior legal representation to indigent defendants in Hidalgo County by safeguarding fundamental individual rights and ensuring access to the guaranteed protections afforded by the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Texas Constitution, and the laws of Texas.
