Testimonials...

I feel that I was more prepared for my baby [by taking all the classes that LCC has to offer] and  although I often have issues with anxiety, my level has actually been low.  I even had a normal score on my postpartum depression screening! I contribute this to my preparation by taking prenatal classes.   -MA
I greatly enjoyed the class. It was highly informative. There was plenty of research based information. I also enjoyed that the presenter was highly trained and knowledgeable, and was also willing to share personal experiences and answer questions. Thank you for providing such a well-rounded class.  - TT
So informative and helpful for this first-time mommy! - GC

I found the class incredibly informative.  Even with everything going on, causing the class to be given online, I still felt it helped me and a lot of information was provided. - MT

Breastfeeding:  Getting Started Right Class (must be taken during pregnancy) discusses your hospital stay and tips for successful breastfeeding, how to latch your baby, how to recognize the perfect latch, different positions to hold your baby, how to know if your baby is getting enough milk and when to call for help.

Breastfeeding Beyond the First Weeks Class

reviews conditions and actions that can affect your milk supply, how to obtain a breast pump from your insurance, how to choose the correct flange size for your pump, how to effectively empty your breasts and lastly, returning to work and pumping.

Breastfeeding & Communication:  Understanding your Baby's Cues Class teaches you to distinguish when a baby is crying because they are hungry and when they just need something to change in their environment.  We help you understand a baby's cues, how they communicate with us and how to respond to their cues.  We also discuss sleeping patterns and when to expect your baby to start sleeping for longer periods of time.  Postpartum depression is also reviewed giving tips on how you and your spouse can take care of yourselves.

Dad's Role in Supporting the Breastfeeding Mother Class is focusing on your support person...how can they advocate and support you during the hospital stay, how to help care for the newborn, the impact of a father's influence on your newborn, the effect of postpartum depression on fathers and support available for fathers.

Our BREASTFEEDING SERIES will help prepare you for your new bundle of joy!  We encourage you to take all four classes during your pregnancy, although most classes (all except Getting Started Right) can be taken during your maternity leave after you deliver (but then you have a little one that may distract you or take you away from class).  Call us today to sign up.
