About the Commissioner

Commissioner Everardo "Ever" Villareal

Everardo "Ever" Villarreal is a distinguished entrepreneur and public servant, best known for his impressive track record of building successful businesses and serving his community with distinction. After graduating from the University of Texas-Pan American with a degree in Criminal Justice, Ever was inspired to become a Border Patrol Agent, following in the footsteps of his late brother, Senior Border Patrol Agent David Villarreal. However, fate had other plans for him, and he instead embarked on a successful career in entrepreneurship.

Ever's first venture was a small tortilleria in Palmview, Texas, which quickly became a local favorite and set the stage for many more successful business ventures to come. Over the years, Ever has built an impressive portfolio of single-family homes, multifamily developments, and commercial developments, making a name for himself as a savvy and innovative business leader.

Through his entrepreneurial endeavors, Ever has also developed a deep passion for serving his community. He has worked closely with many public leaders and learned the inner workings of county government, paving the way for his successful run for Hidalgo County Commissioner for Precinct 3 in 2020. In this role, Ever has been a tireless advocate for Western Hidalgo County, fighting to ensure that the region has proper roads, drainage, and infrastructure to support growth and development.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Ever is a devoted family man. He has been happily married to his wife, Ruth Villarreal, for the past 24 years, and together they've raised three beautiful children, David, Sofia, and Valeria. He is also the proud son of Martha Villarreal and the late Juan Villarreal.

With his dedication to public service and proven track record of success, Ever Villarreal is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, passion, and a commitment to excellence.
